Young Researcher Award

One (1) award will be made to a person less than 40 years old, who has been doing research for less than 10 years following receipt of the terminal research degree (e.g. PhD, MD). The ISSPD Awards committee will call for nominations and select the winner. The award comprises complimentary registration and a travel grant of US$2,000. The award is funded from the conference budget.

JOHN GUNDERSON SENIOR RESEARCHER AWARD

The Senior Career Award
One (1) award will be made to an eminent person who has made major contributions to the field. The ISSPD Awards committee will call for nominations and select the winner.
***The award comprises a plenary lecture at the congress, a commemorative plaque, an honorarium made up of US$1500, complimentary registration, three (3) nights’ accommodation (at the most superior hotel associated with the conference) and return (round trip) economy airfare direct from the speaker’s home base. The award is funded from the conference budget.

Prospective applicants are invited to submit a 1-page statement to isspdstudnetsection@gmail.com by 5 September of the year of the bi-annual congress. The size of the awards depend on the health of the congress budget for that respective year.

Student Travel Award

For most congresses, the board elicits application for student awards which are granted to attend the bi-annual congress. 

Student poster award

The ISSPD offers a student poster award competition for trainees presenting posters at the congress. During the bi-annual congress, a committee will determine which poster has the most scientific merit. The winner will be announced at during the congress.
